My grandma gave us this t.v stand for free. We had it as our television stand for a little bit, but the kids kept on hanging on the doors and breaking them. And then it was REALLY easy for them to open up the doors and they would take out all of the movies and spread them out everywhere. We realized for our toddler situation we would have to do something different. So, I used an old dresser to turn into our television stand. You can check out the post here.
This t.v stand has been in our garage for quite some time and we are finally trying to clean out our garage and so I finally decided it was time to make it pretty.
I took a picture after I started sanding the top and the sides. It didn’t look this bad when we got it. The kids just had to make a mark on this t.v stand.
Yes, they found markers and decided to write all over it. Hey do you see the bookcase in the background? You can check out that re-do here.
It certainly looked beat up after I sanded.
I stained the top with my FAVORITE wood stain which is Dark Walnut!
And then I started taping the sides where I didn’t want to paint.
I took off the other door and I continued painting.
I then stained the sides of the t.v stand too.
I painted the sides of the t.v stand as well as around the doors. I stained the center of the doors with the same dark walnut stain.
After a good coat of pollycrillic the dresser is done!
