Today, I am going to show you my coffee table makeover. We have gone through a lot with our living room since we moved into this home. I will be doing a full living room reveal in later weeks once I finish the final touches. But for right now I want to show you guys my coffee table makeover. So our living room was in desperate need of a coffee table. But I had some few requirements. I wanted them to be solid wood and have round edges ( I have small children and couldn’t risk point edges). I mentioned this to my sister-in-law and she gave me a coffee table and a side table for free! They have been around since she was just a little girl. So yes they were old, but they still has so much life in them. All they needed was a little sprucing up!
Ignore the Red Baron Pizza box. I am not sure why it’s out there. I have children. You never know sometimes.
As you can see they are SUPER pretty, but once you got closer you saw all of the imperfections that accumulate over the years with small kids. There were pen marks, water rings, markers and some other questionable stains. hehe. So I had to first sand the crap out of them!
So I decided that I was going to stain the top of the tables with a dark walnut stain (if you follow my blog you would know that’s my favorite stain!!). I put like four layers of the stain because I wanted it to be super dark!
I can’t find a picture of me staining the top! Bummer!
After staining the top I then painted the base of the tables a chalk paint “Cashew” Paint! I get it from Walmart.
I was super excited about the end result! I loved this Coffee Table Makeover.
I also create a TV Stand to match this coffee table! You can check out that here!
