I want to show you this Wood Pallet Advent Calendar that I made. Ever since I found out I was pregnant with my first (back in 2013) I wanted to find an adorable advent calendar. I wanted to find something that cute and fun for my kids to be able to count down to Christmas. I have been searching every year and I never could find anything that really called to me. All of the calendars looked like a complete disaster. I didn’t want my kids to ruin the calendar, I wanted it to be a form of decoration AND I wanted to make it so that it didn’t look tacky or “old woman” like. I went out on Black Friday and I found myself in Craft Warehouse (literally one of my favorite places) and I saw the most adorable little Christmas themed numbers that we screaming “Turn me Into an Advent Calendar” and so I just HAD to listen to them.
So I took this pallet that I had laying in my backyard. I picked up this pallet on the side of the road about a month ago and I have been wanting to do something with it but couldn’t decide what project I needed to do with it.
I cute it in half.
I then cut five pieces of string and stapled them on the pallet. I then bought little clothespins.
And I clothes pinned the numbers onto the pallet.
Just like that. An adorable pallet advent calendar!
I am still having trouble as to where I should put the silly thing! It is SO heavy and so I don’t want to try mounting it onto the wall and I can’t put it on the ground because my toddlers would ruin everything 😉
So any ideas as to how I can display this would be awesome! 🙂
(Update: Thank you for everybody who gave me advice on where to put this thing or what to do with it. I finally decided to put it over my fireplace! It was the perfect spot and it’s somewhere that the kids can’t ruin it, but they can see it and be excited about it).
