One thing that I REALLY love doing is doing furniture makeovers! I just love buying something for cheap and adding life back into it! And it doesn’t hurt that I then sell if for profit. That is always nice. So my favorite furniture makeover is this amazing dresser! You can check out the whole post here. I bought this for $15 and sold for $40. I spent $5 on paint. So that was a $20 profit. I think that was pretty nice.
A few weeks ago I found a cart for $1. I couldn’t believe that nobody saw the pretty potential! I immediately snagged it. Of course it isn’t very pretty but I decided to give it a try!
I spent about an hour just scrubbing it down. There was dirt, food and gross stuff on it that I wanted to get off. I had to make sure that it was a beautiful canvas. A good scrub already transformed it.
I then decided to stain the top shelf and the center shelf. I then decided to stain the door. I chose a Dark Walnut stain (which is my favorite color).
Sadly, after I had stained both of the shelves I realized that there was a weird discoloration on the bottom shelf. I guess from just lots of wear and tear. So instead I decided to paint over the bottom shelf with the red paint that I chose.
I chose a Crimson red. I thought it was SUPER pretty. Although the pictures make it seem pink. It is definitely red.
I painted the doors.
I then screwed back on doors after everything had dried. And her is the final result! I am trying to sell for $30. I bought for $1 and spent $10 on paint. I already had the stain. So I would be making a $20 profit!
Are you wondering how I motivate myself to get all of this stuff accomplished?
