Here is our beautiful laundry room reveal!
I am really excited to be showing you the laundry room reveal today! This is super exciting and I am excited to be able to share this with you guys!
So when we moved into the home there was nothing wrong with the laundry room. The cabinets were dated and were an old brown. The color was white and there was a shelf that was above the washer and dryer. The laundry room wasn’t “bad” but it was kind of boring and really old looking.

Looking into the laundry room from the kitchen.
We are hip, young and cool! okay…the young part is true! We wanted our laundry room to reflect how awesome we are. However, there was just SO many other things on my list that it made no sense to even begin on the laundry room. Until our laundry room flooded. You can check out exactly what happened in our laundry room in the post Worst Blogger in the World and then we had to repair the water damage. You can check out how we fixed everything in How to Fix Water Damaged Floors.
So I decided this was the perfect time to remodel the laundry room and make it a lot more functional and pretty!
The first thing that I knew I wanted to do was to paint. So I painted the walls and the cabinets. I then knew that I wanted to create a folding board on top of the washer and dryer. I was determined to make this laundry room more functional if I was going to go through the hassle of remodeling. So I bought this board from Home Depot foe $20. I sanded and stained it.
I then knew that I wanted to not have the kitty litter in the laundry room anymore. We don’t have a door on our laundry room and so whenever that silly fat kitty of ours would go to the bathroom the entire home would smell of his poop! Oh my gosh that cat can clear a room…in this case…a fricken house! So I cut a hole in our door for a kitty door and put the cat litter out in the garage. I decided to take this whole shelving section and turn it into a place where we can put clothes. I put a shower curtain in the top to hang clothes and grabbed two clothes bins to place on the shelves. This is so perfect and makes it so we NEVER have clothes on the floor which is awesome and vital (since this leads to our garage). I bought the shower curtain from a thrift store for $2. I already had the black laundry basket and we bought the gray one from Target for $7.
It was also very important for me to have a really cute soap dispenser. So I bought this beautiful thing at Goodwill for $5! Sold! 😀 I am totally obsessed with this 🙂 So I pour my homemade detergent (you can find the recipe here) into this dispenser.
We all have this problem. You know the problem! The problem where you lose socks! Where do all of the socks go? I have NO IDEA!!! Well so I decided to create this so maybe we can have an easier time trying to find those missing mates!
Finally I had to add some adorable and cute home decor pieces that are not functional but SO CUTE! 🙂 I bought those bamboo place mats from Goodwill for like $0.50. I bought the clips for $1 from Target. I tied some yarn on them. I made a free Printable and printed off the free printable.
So there you have it! That is our lovely laundry room remodel! It was really cheap and easy, but REALLY functional!
