Here is my Chalk Paint Dresser Makeover!
If you are a faithful follower of this blog you would know that I just recently decided to embark on the awesome journey of buying old stuff and doing makeovers on them and selling them. What you don’t know is that I just found a space in a nearby vendor shop and I am going to be selling my stuff. I am super excited, but also REALLY nervous. Probably more nervous than excited at this particular point. It is a big step and it is always intimidating putting yourself out there for others to judge you! I would hate to be totally proud of a piece and then have intense criticism. So I am a little …a lot nervous, because I am super new to this crafting and makeover business. I am hoping and praying that this is successful and that I have fun doing.
So this is my second piece that I am putting in my little shop. My first was the upholstered Hawaiian fabric chair. And then this amazing chalk dresser. So I am pretty upset….I can’t find the picture ANYWHERE! I took pictures along the way and of course I can’t find them. But I do (thankfully) have the before and after pictures to show you! That is the most important part anyways right?!
So here is the before picture. So this dresser is SOLID Wood Oak! It is crazy heavy and it was only $15! So I figured having something SO solid and really good construction that this would be the perfect piece to makeover. I took of all of the hardware and the doors. I wanted to make sure I didn’t accidentally paint any of the hardware.
I then finished painted it a gray color and decided it was TOO gray. So I painted the doors and the sides. In order to get into the little nooks and crannies I decided to use a Q-tip and it worked REALLY well!
I am SUPER excited about this piece and it will be really interested to see how much it sells for!
I am going to be putting a poly coat on top to make sure that whomever buys this beautiful piece doesn’t easily scratch it.
