Craft Room Essentials
I want to give you 15 Craft Room essentials! Until recent I have always told people that I didn’t like crafts. All I could think about when I thought of crafts was either really childish things like stringing beads or grandma things like crocheting and knitting. I don’t like either. But I realized there was SO much more to the word craft. I moved into a home and I realized I LOVE crafts. I love home decor and I love making my home beautiful. I have really been able to explore a different side of myself and it has been SO much fun! My husband and I are loving fixing up our current home, but I can’t help but to think about our next home. In our next home I really want to have my very home craft room. I am drooling over some of the famous bloggers craft rooms and I can’t help to be green with envy. I do have a large shed in the back that is just asking to be turned into a craft room, but that is several years down the road (if we stay there that long). I have been exploring some amazing things for my future craft room and I would love to share with you what I found. You can click on any of the names of the item and it will take you to Amazon where I found the item. From there you can see item prices, related items as well as have the opportunity to purchase any item that you find awesome!
I am totally in love with this desk! I love how there are little cubies on the side of the desk to place some of my craft supplies for easy accessibility.
In my dream craft room I would really like to have a rolling cart that had a whole bunch of common and basic tools on it. I would put glue, hot glue gun, tape, scissors and other basic items so that if I wanted to do projects in other rooms I could just roll my little cart with me instead of making several trips.
I really like the idea of having a whole bunch of construction paper of various colors. I LOVE construction paper! When I was in school I would do tons of projects and they all involved colorful paper. My mom would always have the paper and I was so grateful for that. I want to be able to have a stash ALWAYS! And what better way to organize than this adorable construction paper storage.
4. Washi Tape:
At this point I am not 100% sure why I need this amazing tape, but I think I would find something fun to do with it! It is SO pretty! Look at all of the pretty colors and all of the amazing designs. Amazon is just FILLED with a variety of this great tape!
Let’s be real here…I am not going to wait until I have a craft room to buy these! I just have SO many amazing ideas to utilize these chalk markers! I am going to make a label for EVERYTHING!
I know that the markers from #5 come with chalkboard labels, but like I said…I am going to label EVERYTHING! Even our cat will get a label! So I am going to need some extra labels.
7. Craft Cart
This is meant for a sewing machine, but I would love one to be able to push around to other rooms and then do some crafts in other rooms. I do a lot of DIY home remodeling projects and I am always in need of a little table to work while in a specific room. I would love to push then into my desired room and be able to have a movable work space.
Storage is going to be super necessary for my ideal craft room and this would be perfect to display some of my supplies! Except…of course I would have to paint it a fun pretty color…like purple! No black shelves are allowed in my craft room!
9. Chalk Paint:
First of all…I can’t trust people who don’t like chalk paint. Chalk paint is the greatest invention. However, when space is limited then you can’t just have a million colors of chalk paint. BUT if I had my own craft room I would have every single color of chalk paint at my fingertips! I would buy SO much of this stuff. This kit is amazing!
10. Chalk Paint Brush:
I think that it is about time that I buckle down and just buy one of these things! I paint so much with chalk paint that I seriously need one. Right now I just use a dollar tree paint brush and I doubt that it has the same affect.
I am actually wondering why I don’t have these stencils already! They are now going in my shopping cart! I have so many amazing projects that I have in mind! I see a dresser makeover in the near future! I love how it comes with the sponge paintbrushes too! How stinken cute! Oh my gosh I honestly want to stop typing this and buy this right now! okay…okay…focus Nicole.
12. Sewing Machine:
Although I am not a master with the sewing machine I can do simple projects. I would love to become better at it…might help if I bought a sewing machine first right? I have only made blankets and burp cloths. However, I would love to learn how to mend clothing or even be ambitious enough to make clothing. My craft room will have a sewing machine in it. There is no doubt about it.
13. Gel Pens:
Okay…I don’t think I need to explain this one. Why wouldn’t you need pretty gel pens?
14: Mod Podge:
Okay…I have to be honest. I have never actually done a project with Mod Podge, but every crafter SWEARS by this stuff. I think I need to buckle down and do an amazing project so that I can be a advocate of it too!
15. Acrylic Paint:
Every craft room needs a stock of these! Oh my gosh I am such a crafter…I am getting goosebumps looking at this!!!
