I am super excited about this new DIY home decor project! Even my husband who usually doesn’t “get” my home decor choices (like my L.O.V.E ladder) said that he really liked it and said it was “cute.” Anytime that a grown man uses the word “cute” then you know its for reals! 🙂 Or maybe he was just using that word, because he knew that it would please me. Either way I am super excited to share this awesome DIY project with you.
First of all this project wasn’t planned. I was actually about to do an adorable menu board. My aunt bought this frame for us when we got married (almost three years ago) and I put pictures in it, but it just looked weird with the pictures that I chose. I could never make the frame “work” in any of my decor! I really loved the frame though and refused to get rid of it! I knew that something amazing was going to happen with it. Finally when my grandma Debbie gave me the idea of a menu board I was completely inspired!
Look at how cute it is! It just needed to be turned into a menu board! Well….then…..my toddler tried to help!
My toddler broke the glass by kneeling on it. I was soooo upset!!! Do you even see the little guys leg in the background! He knew he was in trouble! I was super super mad at first, because I had already bought the stuff and printed out the labels for the menu board and then…THIS!!! Well I wasn’t going to let the beautiful black frame go to waste. So I took apart the frame.
I whipped out the chalk paint and threw the larger frame up on the wall.
Well that looks so lame and boring huh!
So I bought a hose clamp from lowes. They were a little bit more than $1 each. You can also buy them from bulk from Amazon.
They look like this 🙂
So I drilled a hole through the hose clamp, measured the mason jar, drilled the hose clamp into the wall and then placed the mason jar in the hose clamp. I looked at the plain sad mason jar on the wall and it looked so pitiful. I then threw two adorable dollar tree burlap flowers into the jar.
I still wasn’t happy with the outcome. It looked so blank underneath the jar.
One of the flowers fell off of the bouquet and so I decided I had to use that in my design underneath the mason jar. I painted a block of wood with matching chalk paint and then stenciled a C (our last name) on the it with yellow paint to match the yellow flower.
I hated the two screws that showed, so I hot glued a flower over one of the screws and rocks over the other.
I was so much happier with it!
But then it looked so bare on the wall all by it’s lonesome.
So I placed the other frame next to it and a little bit underneath.
I then painted four blocks with H.O.M.E on them with white paint.
I screwed the letters in the frame
And there you have it 🙂
My impromptu DIY project!
I really hope that you have been inspired! 🙂 Tell me what you think in the comments!

I have decided to buy these from Amazon, because I am totally in love with Mason Jar projects and buying in bulk seems to be the way to go! Check out all of their mason jar options!
